Alternative Provision

The Ark is an Education and Training dedicatd to supporting young people who may benefit from al alternative education (AP) pathway. We create a nurturing, structured and aspiration environment, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to achieve, develop essential skills, and progress onto meaningful destinations. 

We also provide quality information, advice and guidance to help learners with the transition into further education whether that is continuing at The Ark or elsewhere.

Our Alternative Provision is designed for students who may have faced challenges in traditional education settings, offering a personalised and supportive approach to learning. Our intent is to:

Re-engage learners with education by providing a bespoke, high-quality curriculum that balances vocational training, academic learning, and personal development.

Deliver an inclusive and supportive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of all students, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Prepare students for adulthood by developing key life skills, employability skills, and confidence through a combination of academic study, vocational training, and tailored support.

Provide high-quality careers education and transition support, ensuring students leave with clear pathways into further education, apprenticeships, or employment.

Foster resilience, self-regulation, and emotional well-being, equipping students with strategies to manage challenges and succeed in education and beyond.

At The Ark, we understand that every student’s journey is unique. We provide a nurturing and structured environment for learners with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Special Educational Needs (SEN), and those experiencing Emotional-Based School Avoidance (EBSA).
