The Ark is a SEN Specialist College, founded in 2020. The Ark is located on Library Street in the heart of Wigan, offering a different style of vocational education, through out student-centred, holistic approach.
Our Mission at the Ark is to encourage our students to build the necessary skills and qualifications to support them in their future employment and career opportunities while promoting a healthy mindset and well-being.
Our Vision at the Ark is to inspire our students by empowering their growth, independence, and well-being.
Through normalising mental health, always having someone available to talk, individualised pastoral support and highlighting the importance of our everyday basic needs which is all reinforced through a proactive PSHE curriculum.
Through being able to be actively involved in creating your course content, building positive relationships with both peers and staff, feeling a sense of belonging and having your voice heard to help to create a positive change.
Through students' self-reflection after each session, the promotion of a positive self-talk culture, embracing imperfection and seeking everyday opportunities all through a variety of teaching styles.
